What’s This Trip About?
In Cambodia, many families can’t afford childcare or education. Schools are often short on staff, supplies, and space. This trip, led by Girlguiding Cambridgeshire, sends young volunteers like Ella to:

Help children develop vital life and learning skills
Support teachers in under-resourced schools
Renovate and brighten up classrooms and outdoor spaces
Relieve families so parents can work while kids are cared for
Immerse in Cambodian culture - building empathy and global understanding
By volunteering in schools and care centres, we’ll help give children a better start in life - and create a brighter learning environment for years to come.<br />
What Ella Will Be Doing
Week 1: Phnom Penh
Classroom teaching through stories, songs & crafts
Renovation work: painting, digging, creating learning spaces
Cultural induction & traditional water blessing ceremony
Explore Phnom Penh’s monuments and history
Weekend: Siem Reap
Visit the ancient Angkor Wat temples at sunrise
Night market & local crafts
Apsara dance show
Week 2: Back to Work & Farewell
Continue teaching and renovations
Cooking class with local ingredients
